The mural “El Viaje” for Sunnys Days 6th annual festival was heavily inspired by the flora and fauna of Oklahoma and was intended to highlight and honor them. Depicted is an Eastern Collared Lizard, Scissor Tailed Flycatcher, Black Swallowtail Butterfly and a Fox. The plants incorporated are Coneflowers, New England Asters, and Winecup flowers. The palette of this mural was inspired by the Marshall Signs (building owners) color schemes to maintain a cohesiveness on the building. To achieve this a split complimentary palette was utilized to bring out the blue violets of the plants, oranges of the animals, and have a blue green background/accents to balance it all. A mixture of handpainting and spray was used to create this mural.
